Many natural oils contain acyclic alcohols, geraniol, linalool, and citronellol. The important monocyclic alcohols are menthol (from Peppermint) and α-terpineol; borneol is a dicyclic terpene alcohol from Borneo camphor, Sesquiterpene alcohols include zingiberol santalols and artemisin.
