CLASSIFICATION

The anthelmintic agents comprise of drugs of chemically diverse structures and their mechanism of action differs from one agent to another.

I. Benzimidazoles

These are versatile anthelmintic agents particularly effective against gastrointestinal nematodes. These are highly effective against ascaris, enterobius, trichuris, and hookworm infections as single or mixed infections.
